"Youthful Days" is Mr.Children's twenty-first single by Mr.Children and debuted at #1 on the Oricon charts, managing to sell 699,270 copies during its run on the chart.(1) The title track was used as the insert song for the Japanese drama Antique ~seiyou kottou yougashiten~ (アンティーク 〜西洋骨董洋菓子店〜). Two years after its release, the b-side track "" was used as the theme song to the Japanese drama Koufuku no ouji (幸福の王子).

The single and PV both won awards in 2002. The PV won 'Best Group Video' at the 2002 SPACE SHOWER Music Video Awards,(2) with the single winning 'Best Theme Song' at the 31st Annual Television Drama Academy Awards.(3)
